Storage Shed Foundations & Site Preparation

For the longevity and safety of your storage shed, you must provide a hard, level surface for your shed’s foundation.

We recommend a stone base with #2 crushed stone (unwashed). This stone pad should be 3 to 5 inches thick, leveled, and tamped. The stone pad should be at least 1 foot (12 inches) larger than your structure, leaving at least 6 inches on all sides of your shed.

#2 crushed stone allows for proper drainage underneath the shed and packs together for a good, hard, long lasting foundation. Other size stones may work; however, if the stones are too large they do not pack together well. Round stones or washed stones are not recommended because they do not provide a firm pad for our delivery equipment. Other leveling options include gravel or concrete.

Sites must be level and ready before our delivery team arrives to install your structure. Your shed can set right on your yard or driveway, however, the site MUST be level. If the site is not leveled correctly, the doors will not line up properly (this is noticeable from the outside), and will not operate smoothly.

Our team will do its best to satisfy you with positioning your structure. When preparing your site for delivery, please know that we may back our trailer up to your prepared site.
